Risk management in transport environments with high competitive pressure

Modern technology in the area of unmanned systems and 3D visualization allow for a new consideration of risk management in in maritime infrastructures. The operation of cost effective 3D risk mitigation strategies in ports is useful, given its management requirements with regard to growing (inter)national competition.

This paper introduces the concept of drone based 3D mapping in ports and provides quantitative data for the first time. The study was introduced in 2019 during the annual conference of International Association of Maritime Economists (IAME) in Athens.
