How the industry benefits from cost effective drone based 3D models

The operation of photogrammetry in ports via unmanned systems is pioneering. Due to advanced technology and declining prices UAS (unmanned aerial systems) nowadays provide a solid basis for 3D mapping by air (aero-triangulation). Its operation is especially useful in sensible infrastructures that require an increased level of planning and management.

The paper introduces the concept operating low cost 3D models by UAV for cost effective operations planning and facility management. The study was introduced in 2019 during the Marine Industry 4.0 conference of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects (RINA) in Rotterdam.
